Dalai Lama prays for Chinese victims
Cincinnati News.Net Tuesday 13th May, 2008
Tibetan leader the Dalai Lama has mourned the deaths of thousands in a devastating earthquake in China and offered prayers for the victims.
The Dalai Lama also lauded the Chinese authorities for acting swiftly to rescue survivors.
In a statement from Dharamsala, the seat of the Tibetan government-in-exile, he said: “We are full of sympathy for the families bereaved by this great tragedy and we admire the quick response of the Chinese authorities in deploying rescue teams at such short notice to bring out survivors from the rubble.â€
Thubten Samphel, a spokesperson for the Tibetan government-in-exile, said “We don't want this to happen to anyone anywhere in the world be it China or Tibet. We feel deeply for those who are suffering in China.“
When asked about China's accusations against the Dalai Lama for allegedly abetting unrest and violence in Lhasa in March, he said the Dalai Lama had denied the charges and stressed that despite China's crackdown on Tibetan protesters in March, the Dalai Lama backs genuine autonomy for the Tibetan people under China's rule and is not in favour of independence.

Dalai Lama prays for Chinese victims
What a humbug.Saying all this good things for his own publicity. On the net,his followers are gloating at the disasters happening in China. The train crash, hmfd, and now the earthquake in sichuan, chengdu which actually has a lot of tibetans and minority tribes living there. They are attributing the disasters to the power of their spirits. What stupid rubbish, still living in feudalistic dark ages. Disasters are happening everywhere,S.korea-bird flu, tornadoes in US,killer storms in maynmar, bushfires, floods, endless. Now,here’s my real heartfelt sympathy for the people of China,at their loss and sufferings in this earthquake tragedy. I even cried when I typed this sentence. Kudos to the Chinese government, whose fast response has won global admiration, including mine.

Chinese brothers and sisters understand us as a human being.
The world and Tibetan community are mourning and offering prayers to Chinese Victims of the Earth quick, which resulted in the loss of so many lives.
As a Tibetan nonviolent resister, we are never against the person but the person’s wrongful deeds, we are not against the Chinese, but the unjust policies of China “No freedom of religion” “No human rights and human dignity” “No freedom of Speech” The Chinese themselves doesn’t have freedom of speech, where media is controlled by the People’s Republic of China.
To Tibetans, the struggle is “You and Me against the problemâ€.
I pay condolences to the victims and urge the Chinese brothers and sisters to join hands to solve the problem and not create more problem.
These sentences are the heart message.
